Key discussion of geothermal risk and insurance/ mitigation.

Ryan Law, Managing Director of Geothermal Engineering Ltd, discussed some of the key risks associated with geothermal development at the Renewable Energy Risk Management event in London. The event was attended by representatives from all the renewable energy technologies as well as those from the risk insurance industry. The discussions were lively and focussed mainly on Government policies and availability of finance, key factors that are currently influencing the development of renewable projects.

Ryan said of the event that. “'It was extremely interesting to hear people’s opinions on geothermal power and discuss some of the current perceptions of risk.  There is a growing interest in geothermal projects, particularly their suitability for small scale urban development. I think attendees left with a much greater understanding of geothermal risk and a heightened awareness of the United Downs deep geothermal project that we are planning in the UK."
