as part of her visit to Exeter University

Ryan Law, Managing Director and Peter Ledingham, Operations Director of Geothermal Engineering Ltd were presented to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II at Exeter University on the 3rd of May. The team were there to demonstrate some of the cutting edge renewable energy technology that is being developed in the South West. The event was then followed by lunch at the University, attended by Her Majesty.

Ryan Law, Managing Director said of the event, “this was a unique opportunity to present some of the concepts behind our deep geothermal project at the United Downs site. The Queen already has an interest in geothermal technology, as evidenced by the heating system that was installed at Buckingham Palace. We explained that this was just taking things a little deeper – 4.5kms deeper. Peter Ledingham, our Operations Director, also had an opportunity to show Her Majesty a drill bit that is similar to that we will use at the United Downs site.’
